Hotel Villa Casagrande, Figline Valdarno, Tuscany

This hotel, half palace and half villa was constructed in 1392 by Ser Ristoro Notary of the Signoria of Florence. The Villa of the Serristori family immediately become a meeting place of artists and philosophers and for great personalities such as Pope Leone X, Carlo VII of Borboni, Prince Umberto of Savoy. The artistic heritage of the villa now accommodates a splendid hotel and farm, where olive oil and Chianti wine are produced and a museum of peasant culture. Hotel Villa Casagrande offers a restaurant where guests can enjoy a typical Tuscan cuisine, in the evocative atmosphere of the cloister that holds centuries of history.
There are 60 rooms of various types with a comfortable décor that the owner of the hotel personally selected and designed.
The part of the building is dedicated to the farm activities, such as the wine and oil productions. Inside the property are organized tours of the noble apartment and a visit of the “Cantina” followed by a wine tasting.
